Will Geer (March 9, 1902 - April 22, 1978) appeared in two episodes of Mayberry R.F.D. Best remembered for playing Grandfather Walton on "The Waltons" (for which he won an Emmy Award of six nominations), he also played a recurring character on the TV series "The Young Rebels" and received Emmy nominations for his appearances on "Eight Is Enough" and "The Love Boat". His film appearances include Misleading Lady, Spitfire, Mystery of Edwin Drood, Union Pacific, The Fight for Life, Deep Waters, Johnny Allegro, Lust for Gold, Anna Lucasta, Comanche Territory, Winchester '73, Broken Arrow, To Please a Lady, Bright Victory, Salt of the Earth, Advise & Consent, Seconds, In Cold Blood, The President's Analyst, Bandolero!, The Reivers, The Moonshine War, Pieces of Dreams, Brother John, Disney's Napoleon and Samantha, Jeremiah Johnson, Executive Action and The Blue Bird.
