Robert Cornthwaite (April 28, 1917 - July 20, 2006) appeared in episodes of The Andy Griffith Show, Gomer Pyle U.S.M.C. and Mayberry R.F.D. He played recurring characters on the TV series "The Adventures of Jim Bowie", "Get Smart", "Batman", "Daniel Boone", "Dynasty" and "Picket Fences". His film appearances include The Thing from Another World, Monkey Business, The War of the Worlds, Kiss Me Deadly, The Spirit of St. Louis, The Power of the Resurrection, What Ever Happened to Baby Jane?, The Ghost and Mr. Chicken (with Don Knotts), Doctor Detroit, Who's That Girl and Matinee.
