Howie and Opie looking at "Mayberry After Midnight" section.

"Mayberry After Midnight" was a section of The Mayberry Gazette. It contained all the local town gossip. Howie Pruitt's mother and Aunt Bee both liked to read that section first.

Other sections in The Mayberry Gazette were: Washington Round Up, International Dateline and Social Security in Action.

In "Three Wishes for Opie", the paper writes an article that Andy and Helen are to possibly wed in June.

In "Opie's Fortune", Red Akins is the columnist who gets the scoop for Mayberry after Midnight. He is only a 16 year old boy.
