Sam’s scientist friend from Durham arranges a private showing of rare moon rocks to Sam and Howard. Goober ends up overhearing the secret and spills the beans to the entire town, causing chaos to ensue.

Maudie Prickett, most well-known by Mayberry fans as Aunt Nora, plays a character called Myrtle in this episode. It’s unclear whether or not this is intended to be the same Myrtle portrayed by Ruth Thom in A Trip to Mexico. Cast
