Foley's Grocery Store is the main grocery store in Mayberry. It was located near the TV repair store and mortuary, just down the street from the courthouse and next door to the alley across from the Mayberry Hotel. Owned by Mr. Foley, it was frequented by many of the ladies in town, including Aunt Bee Taylor, Clara Edwards, and Emma Watson. It received brief competition for business from some Mayberrians when Diamond Jim's opened, but the quality of the produce ultimately led to their return.

Notable Employees[]

Mr. Foley is the owner of the store but apparently tasks Art Crowley with running day-to-day operations. Fred Plummer was briefly employed to sweep the sidewalk around the store. [1] Opie Taylor competed with Billy Crenshaw for the position of delivery boy. Mr. Foley chose Opie for the job, but Opie intentionally got himself fired because he knew Billy needed the money from the job more than him. [2]
