Betty Lynn (born August 29, 1926-October 16th 2021) played Thelma Lou on The Andy Griffith Show and the TV movie Return to Mayberry. Her film appearances include Sitting Pretty, June Bride, Mother Is a Freshman, Father Was a Fullback, Cheaper by the Dozen, Million Dollar Mermaid and Meet Me in Las Vegas. She played recurring characters on the TV series "Family Affair", Disney's "Texas John Slaughter" serial, "My Three Sons" and "Matlock" (as Sarah, Andy Griffith's secretary). She appeared in the TV reunion specials E! True Hollywood Story: Andy of Mayberry and Inside TV Land: The Andy Griffith Show. Born in Kansas City, Missouri, she lived for many years in Hollywood. In 2006 she moved to Mount Airy, North Carolina, the hometown of Andy Griffith, where she also participated in monthly fan signings. Betty Lynn passed away on October 16, 2021 after a brief illness. She was 95 years old.
