Summary[]
Aunt Bee collects insurance for the loss of an antique jeweled pin. After she spends the money, she finds the missing heirloom.
Plot[]
While clearing out some things, Aunt Bee finds an old pin, a family heirloom of sorts that belonged to an aunt. She panics however when it's subsequently misplaced and is convinced she may have accidentally thrown it out. Andy convinces her not to worry about it and to submit an insurance claim, which she promptly spends on a new garbage disposal unit. After she finds the pin in a smock she had been wearing that day she feels like she has now stolen from the insurance company. She's ready to refund the money but Warren and Goober have their own ideas including a solution that they couldn't have thought of even if they tried.
Notes/Trivia[]
- Ed Jenkins the insurance agent is played by Jack Dodson, who would later appear in the series as Howard Sprague.
- A contradiction occurs in this episode. In the episode Aunt Bee on TV, Aunt Bee won a garbage disposal, among other game show prizes. She sold most of her prizes to pay the IRS but retained the garbage disposal and a television. In this episode, however, she claims to have given up the disposal that she won in Hollywood.
