Buddy Ebsen
Buddy Ebsen (April 2, 1908 - July 6, 2003) appeared in one episode of The Andy Griffith Show. He is best remembered for his television roles, George Russel in Disney's "Davy Crockett" serial, Jed Clampett in "The Beverly Hillbillies" and the title character in "Barnaby Jones". He appeared in the films, Broadway Melody of 1936, Captain January, Born to Dance, Broadway Melody of 1938, Breakfast at Tiffany's, Disney's The One and Only Genuine Original Family Band and in a cameo as Barnaby Jones in the 1993 film The Beverly Hillbillies, starring Jim Varney as Jed Clampett. He was awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Was the original choice for "The Tin Man" in "The Wizard of Oz", but had troubles with the make-up.
