Bob Ross (June 26, 1908 - August 17, 1970) co-produced The Andy Griffith Show and Mayberry R.F.D. and wrote episodes of those two series and of Gomer Pyle U.S.M.C. In 1967 he was nominated for the Emmy Award for Outstanding Comedy Series for "The Andy Griffith Show". He wrote episodes of "The Amos 'n Andy Show", "The Red Skelton Show", "The Real McCoys", "Leave It to Beaver" and co-wrote the screenplay for the Jerry Lewis film Three on a Couch.
