Actor R.G.Armstrong who portrayed "Farmer Flint" in the Andy Griffith show passed away July 27th at the age of 95.

"Farmer Flint" had a daughter named Frances "Frankie" Flint who was "made-over" by Ellie Walker.

R.G. was a strong character actor who began working in 1954 and studied with Lee Strasberg.

Can you imagine him as Otis Campbell instead of Hal Smith? Most people remember him as Sam Drucker from "Green Acres". He's also in "Rear Window" (Hitchcock's best movie!), as the husband of cartoon voice actress Sara Berner.

Today my wife Jennifer and I visited the grave of Frank Sutton at Greenwood Cemetery in his hometown of Clarksville, Tennessee. He is buried between his parents Frank and Thelma. He lost his father at the age of 14, served in the Army in the South Pacific during World War II, and graduated from Columbia University with a drama degree. He died more than 37 years ago while preparing for an appearance in a dinner theater in Shreveport, Louisiana.

When we arrived we were surprised to find a United States Marine Corps flag planted at his grave. He ended up serving in the Army because he wasn't able to pass the Marine Corps physical during the War. Just watched Return to Mayberry and now I'm all teary! ;-( It is so happy and funny and sad all at the same time! Not my favorite episode, but see what you think. I was proud of the way Opie stood up for his Pa, he had a right too! Captain Barker is like some people, judging you for what you look like and act like, not for who you are. Thankfully, he learned his lesson at the end! I also like how Andy made Captain Barker annoyed and irritated, not a lot, but just enough to make Barker seem not as capable and smart as he looked!

Andy has very good thinking and intellectual skills, being able to surmise that Dirkson was in Emma's house. The little conversation between Emma and Andy was comical, with her faces.

Well, right from the start, I have to say...very well done for the first episode!

Opie has to learn a lesson that is important for all of us. Learning to adapt to change and learning to accept new people is hard for some, and easy for others. With me, this is a lesson I need to learn more often!

The wedding scene at the beginning had me in stitches, and I love when Opie almost throws the box of rice! "Not the box, Opie, just the contents!"

I was touched at the end where Opie runs out to Aunt Bee and tells her she needs him. Aww!

However, I do think Opie also needs a lesson in obedience to his "Pa". Being told many times to "hush up" isn't being a very good role model, especially for children his age who watch. Now, I understand it is funny and pla…
