Plot[]
At Andy's suggestion, Howard Sprague agrees to be a Big Brother to a local teenager, Tommy Parker, who isn't doing too well in school and who both Andy and the Principal are concerned may start to make bad choices in life. Howard is keen from the outset and offers to study with the young man - Howard is studying for the civil service exams but when he meets Tommy's sister Betty, he soon finds himself spending more time with her than Tommy. When word gets back to Andy that Howard has had little effect on Tommy he is puzzled; when he hears that Howard has been spending all his time at the dance hall where Tommy's sister works, he's downright disappointed. Tommy however also comes to understand what is at stake and decides to make a major change in his life.
