Opie Taylor: "Couldn't I go talk to the Sergeant?"
Duke Slater and Frankie Lombardi: "NO!"

Vince Carter: "There is a Marine base in South Carolina, couldn't you go there to enlist?!"

Vince Carter: "Did you see that, Pyle? Did you see how close I came to being sent to a federal penitentiary?"
Gomer Pyle: "Federal penitentiary? Surely they wouldn't send you to a penitentiary just for having a little boy in your platoon area?"
