Plot
Edit
Andy and Barney travel to Raleigh on business and help catch a jewel thief in their hotel.
Summary
Edit
Hoping to secure more assistance from the state police commission, Andy and Barney head to the bustling metropolis of Raleigh, North Carolina. The problem is that Mayberry has practically no crime, and thus no extra help is needed. The powers-that-be change their minds when Andy and Barney inadvertently tangle with a jewel thief.
Trivia/Notes
Edit
- First episode to take place outside of Mayberry. With the exception of a brief prologue scene (which is edited out of most TV versions), the entire episode takes place in Raleigh.
Quotes
Edit
- Aunt Bee: Wait, I almost forgot. (goes to the kitchen)
- Barney: What'd she forget?
- Andy: Well, I'll bet you a quarter she forgot a brown paper sack full of sandwiches. I never been on a trip in my life I didn't have to carry a brown paper sack full of sandwiches.
- Opie: "If you think that's something, you should hear me sing a song!"
- Andy: "Careful! There's a bottle in there!"
- Barney: "You thought of everything, didn't you."
